Bay Area-bred singer Janel Marisse is looking to make her mark on the R&B game as an alternative to any unnecessary trendiness.

“’Serve’ was one of the songs that came really easy for me as the style and vibe of it came very natural for me,” the EMPIRE-signed artist tells RealStreetRadio. “I got in the booth and freestyled the hook and it just felt right! as I was creating the hook I realized that it was my version of Aaliyah’s ‘Rock the Boat’.”
