Kimora Lee Simmons has repurchased her iconic streetwear model Baby Phat and plans to relaunch the road later this 12 months. The designer, entrepreneur and former mannequin introduced the information on Friday (March eight) in a press launch.
Kimora’s two daughters with Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons — 19-year-old Ming and 16-year-old Aoki — can even play integral roles within the model’s relaunch. Ming expressed her pleasure in an Instagram submit.

In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Kimora defined why the Baby Phat relaunch is paramount.
“It’s essential that you’ve ladies on either side — ladies as the top person, ladies because the creator,” she mentioned. “We have to take extra of that duty and personal it.”
Baby Phat’s authentic mum or dad, Phat Fashion, was based by Russell over 25 years in the past, whereas Kimora served as Baby Phat’s inventive director from 2000 to 2010. In 2004, the corporate was acquired by Kellwood Co. for $140 million.
