Kid Cudi is making an adult animated series as a companion piece to his next album.

The Grammy-winning artist has joined forces with Kenya Barris, the creator of ABC’s hit program Black-ish, for a new Netflix series titled Entergalactic. The show will feature music from Cudi’s upcoming LP of the same name.

According to Netflix, the series “follows a young man on his journey to discover love.” Cudi will star, write and executive produce the show.

Entergalactic will be something you’ve never experienced,” he wrote on Twitter. “I promise it’ll be a fun ride. Lot of good friends involved. Great songs too! The cast is coming together. I know a year from now seems like forever but itll be here before u know it!”

Barris, who has an overall deal with Netflix, is executive producing the series through his Khalabo Ink Society production company. Ian Edelman, who worked with Cudi on HBO’s How To Make It In America, is also serving as a writer and executive producer for the upcoming show.

No release date has been announced for the Entergalactic series or album, but Cudi has previously announced plans to drop new music in 2020. The LP will be released through Republic Records.
