Consulting firm Redfield & Wilton Strategies conducted a poll last week asking 2,000 people who they’d vote for in the November 2020 presidential election. When Kanye West’s name was included as one of the candidates, he only pulled in two percent of the vote.

But interestingly enough, Ye’s inclusion didn’t hurt democratic nominee Joe Biden — it hurt Donald Trump. Before Kanye’s name was added, Biden clocked 48 percent of the vote while Trump reeled in 40 percent. Once the eccentric rapper’s name popped up, Trump’s percentage dropped to 39 percent.

Meanwhile, other third-party candidates from the Libertarian and Green Parties also hit two percent and one percent each, respectively.

Kanye announced his intention to run for president on the Fourth Of July but hasn’t filled out any of the necessary paperwork to actually make it happen. During a conversation with Forbes, which was described as “four hours of rambling interviews,” he claimed he was running as part of “The Birthday Party,” made his pro-life stance clear and disavowed Trump, a person he’s publicly supported for years.

“It looks like one big mess to me,” he said. “I don’t like that I caught wind that he hid in the bunker … I am taking the red hat off, with this interview.”

Is Kanye West Trying To Steal Votes For Donald Trump With 2020 Presidential Bid?

Following Ye’s announcement, people were irate this stunt could possibly split the democratic vote and help re-elect the divisive POTUS currently occupying the White House. But many Hip Hop artists simply rolled their eyes and chalked it up to another one of Kanye’s bad attempts at new album promo.

Then there was Chance The Rapper, who became a trending Twitter topic on Monday (July 13), defended his fellow Chicagoan and suggested Ye would make a much better president than Biden. He was promptly dragged.
