Los Angeles, CA – The 61st Annual Grammy Awards are underway on the Staples Center in Los Angeles and Hip Hop leads the cost this yr. Kendrick Lamar is up for eight nominations in classes reminiscent of Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Rap Performance due to his work on Black Panther. 

Meanwhile, Drake is up for seven awards, whereas Cardi B is nominated in 5 classes.

The nominations for the 61st Annual Grammy Awards have arrived — and Hip Hop undeniably leads the cost. This time, the variety of nominees within the 4 basic fields has expanded from 5 to eight in an try and have extra variety.

Thanks to his work on the Black Panther soundtrack, Kendrick Lamar has racked up eight nominations in classes reminiscent of Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Rap Performance.

Drake is correct behind him with seven nominations, together with Album of the Year for his newest album Scorpion. Meanwhile, Cardi B continues her monumental rise to fame with 5 nominations for Record of The Year, Album of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

The late Mac Miller additionally obtained a posthumous nomination for his final undertaking Swimming within the Best Rap Album class, whereas newcomer Tierra Whack’s creative video for “Mumbo Jumbo” is nominated within the Video of the Year class alongside Beyoncé and JAY-Z, Childish Gambino, Joyner Lucas and Janelle Monáe.

The 2019 Grammys will likely be broadcast by CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 10.
