With their hands tied thanks to the ongoing global pandemic, DJ Khaled and Drake improvised to deliver the plush “POPSTAR” visual on Friday (September 4). Instead of Khaled and Drake starring front-and-center, Drizzy calls on Canadian deity Justin Bieber as the clip’s main attraction.
Director X chronicles a night of wild partying in the life of the Biebs. The drinks are flowing and plenty of women are passed out on the floor of his bedroom, as Justin bounces around his mansion with security trying to keep him in check. Cameos are made throughout by Justin’s manager Scooter Braun, who Drake namedrops on the track, Hailey Baldwin, OVO Chubbs, and King Bach.

Yep. @djkhaled X @champagnepapi X #BIZZLE 😂😂😂😂 #popstar video out now. @directorx
The storyline takes a turn when the scene flips to Bieber seemingly waking up from a dream and questioning the night’s events with his wife Hailey Baldwin by his side. When the Purpose singer goes for a morning walk with his dog, Drake actually does end up calling him like the original scene shows, so he could’ve been experiencing some déjà vu.
“POPSTAR” and “GREECE” dropped as a two-pack of Drake-assisted singles back in July that will appear on DJ Khaled’s upcoming Khaled Khaled album, which is expected to drop by 2020’s end. “POPSTAR” debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
