Cardi B is speaking out after Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s appearance at the Republican National Convention.

Cameron spoke during night two of the RNC on Wednesday (August 26) and casually mentioned Breonna Taylor’s name as he addressed the crowd – though not with an update or any further information on her case. Instead, he used the the late Louisville, Kentucky EMT’s death as an example to highlight how much Republicans care about people.

A disgusted Cardi proceeded to let him know about himself in an Instagram post.

“This is such a slap in the face,” she wrote with a screenshot of his appearance. “Like damn my nikka not once have you said nothing about the arrest of the officers that killed Breonna Taylor ,not once have you s shown effort of bringing justice to Breonna Taylor and here you are at the podium of the Republican conventions talkin bout justice ,America and all this bullshit. You sooo blinded by your MASTERS that you don’t even notice that their using you as a Pawn to trigger YOUR OWN KIND ! Never would they ever had you up there if you wasn’t in charge of Breonna Taylor case.”

Cameron’s remark actually was only a nod to Taylor’s family and didn’t even address the horrific injustice she suffered at the hands of Louisville police on March 13.

“We Republicans do recognize those who work in good faith towards peace, justice and equality,” he said. “In fact, it was General Dwight Eisenhower who said democracy is a system that recognizes the equality of humans before the law. Whether you are the family of Breonna Taylor or David Dorn, these are the ideals that will heal our nation’s wounds.”

Breonna Taylor’s mother later responded to Cameron’s mention of her daughter and while she didn’t use the same language Cardi used, her message was the same.

“It was nice to see him using a national platform to remind those watching the Republican convention of my daughter’s name,” Tamika Palmer said in a written statement. “I hope the next time we see him he’s telling the country he’s charging all officers responsible for my daughter’s death (or murder) and is committed to getting her overdue justice.”

Cameron told Fox News prior to his appearance that he’d also met with the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice regarding Taylor’s case while in Washington D.C. for the convention, and says there are updates to come.

“(We) obviously had good, constructive conversations there,” he said. “We continue to await some key information from the FBI as it relates to a ballistics report. Once we get that, we’ll be able to assess that information and then make conclusions from there.”
