Gwinnett County, GA – Benzino was briefly behind bars following an alleged altercation involving the former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star and the new boyfriend of his ex Althea Eaton — but even that didn’t keep him out of trouble.

According to an Instagram post from Benzino’s account, believed to be posted by his son, the 55-year-old got into a fight with a fellow Gwinnett County Jail inmate and was promptly sent to the infirmary with a tooth embedded into his hand.

“My dad sent me this from the infirmary, he got into a fight with an inmate and is in 24 hour lockdown,” the captions reads. “the guy’s tooth got stuck in his hand, they are transferring him to another prison and should get bond. If not he will be in for another 90 day. He just want to thank his supporters and when he gets out he will tell his side of the story. #FREEBENZINO.”

Whew! A post from #Benzino’s Instagram account, presumably from his son, alleges that he is being transferred to another prison after being involved in a prison fight. The post claims that Benzino had a tooth stuck in his hand after the fight and after being in the infirmary, is expected to be transferred to another facility. (?: @gettyimages)

Benzino was arrested on July 31 in Braselton, Georgia after he and Eaton’s boyfriend engaged in some kind of confrontation. As the couple returned home from a neighborhood walk, Benzino was allegedly waiting at the man’s 2018 Chevy Silverado and “approached him in a threatening and harassing manner.”

Although the man attempted to flee, Benzino allegedly punched the truck, leaving two dents on the driver’s side door. Police ultimately arrested Benzino on one count of criminal damage in the second degree and one count of disorderly conduct after witnesses at the scene corroborated the man’s account. But Benzino says the alleged victim was actually the aggressor and threatened to “shoot” him.

Benzino has since been released from prison and vowed to tell his story. In a post-jail photo shared to his Instagram account, his right hand is bandaged up.

“Don’t got too much to say other than I’m home and God is good,” he wrote in the caption. “Just know there’s another side to@the story and I’ll be addressing mine at a later time. I love you @chavo @coileray @3tankaa and Zino Shout out to partner @twin_moneyman love bro and thanks @hitmansteviej_1 @yimean_vo @ilovemyfiends I’m tired and gotta get up early for court. Thank you to all@my supporters.”
