Anderson .Paak provided the drums for his latest single.

It’s been a busy past few months for Anderson .Paak. After playing a major role in Dreamworks/Universal’s comedy Trolls: World Tour, he’s appeared on the new Nas album, King’s Disease and the Madden 21 soundtrack alongside Rick Ross with “Cut Em In.” Back in June, he dropped the protest anthem “Lockdown,” and later released a remix with Noname, J.I.D., and Jay Rock. Three weeks ago, he linked up with Busta Rhymes for “YUUUU.” On Tuesday, he dropped a new collaboration with Timbaland called “Jewelz.”

The track is laced with keyboards and vocoder, each provided by Ron Avant. Paak provides the drums, while Kelsey Gonzalez plays the bass. The BREED and Shucati co-produced the track.

Paak, joined by his son Soul Rasheed, originally teased the track on Instagram Live back in April for his Fridance series, even showing viewers a dance to the song. “I hope y’all got your moves together for this Fridance,” he said. “More exclusives + special guests.” In the meantime, his fans have been clamoring for the song. At long last, the official CDQ is available to the public.

On Instagram, Paak announced that an animated video for the track would be coming soon. The video, produced in conjunction with Vans and Foot Locker, will be available exclusively on the Foot Locker website.

Stay tuned for further updates on a new Anderson .Paak project. In recent months, he’s previewed unreleased collaborations with heavy hitters such as KAYTRANADA, Hit-Boy, and Kamasi Washington.

“JEWELZ” is now available on all major digital streaming platforms.
