NEW YORK, NY – There’s been a bit of confusion in regards to whether or not Cardi B will be performing at Monday’s (August 20) MTV Video Music Awards.

But TMZ has received intel from sources working on production for the show who have confirmed that Cardi will not be performing.

Additionally, Cardi’s newborn daughter Kulture will not be traveling with her to the show.

Just last week, Cardi shared a tweet from MTV, which vaguely stated that she would “open the 2018 @VMAs.”

Rather than a grandiose opening performance, she’ll reportedly open the show with a monologue or a skit.

The artists who are scheduled to perform at the VMAs are Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Post Malone, Logic, and a handful of others.

The 2018 MTV Video Music Awards will air tonight at 9/8c on MTV.
