Tyrese Investigation Dropped By LA County Department Of Children & Family Services

To say that the past few week have pushed actor and singer Tyrese Gibson to his breaking point would be an understatement. Currently locked in court battling his ex-wife Norma Gibson for  custody (among other things), Tyrese was being investigated amid allegations he’d hit his 10-year-old daughter Shayla.

En route to court on Thursday (November 2), the Fast & Furious co-star posted an Instagram video with the caption, “I’m innocent, repeat, I’m innocent! did nothing to my baby.”

Now, the Los Angeles County Department Children and Family Services have ficially closed their investigation, according to The Blast. Consequently, they won’t be seeking any criminal charges against the actor.

While this doesn’t resolve the other issues, it clears up what was (understandably) the most hurtful misconception about him.

A video Tyrese breaking down and crying before heading to court earlier this week prompted a sea instant roasting. This led many to point out the obvious hypocrisy supporting mental health as a hot topic issue while throwing dirt on a man while he (clearly) needed help and support.

Tyrese again took to Instagram on Thursday to reassure fans and well-wishers who were concerned about his mental state that he was “actually ok.”

One the more humorous reactions to Tyrese’s “meltdown” came from comedian Michael Blackson, who said due to his “light skin behavior,” Tyrese was being traded.

“You are no longer considered dark skin … you did some really red bullshit yesterday,” he said. “I spoke to Akon, Don Cheadle, Gucci Mane and Wesley Snipes and we are trading you for Drake and Steph Curry. Good luck with your court case.”

Tyrese responded positively, stating “I] needed this … when you’re fighting for your baby, all you wanna do is laugh.”

Blackson responded with his own words encouragement. “I’ve been going thru the same battle with my 10 yr old twin boys … don’t give up keep fighting and one day when your daughter is old enough her mom will have a lot explaining to do.”

Of course, Blackson ended things on a funny note. “Oh, since you don’t want to do Fast & Furious 9 can I have your part? Just asking that’s all.”

Canadian Mayoral Hopeful Drops Election Diss Track Over "Hit Em' Up" Beat

Montreal, Canada – The race for mayor in Montreal, Quebec is heating up, and candidate Tyler Lemco — a YouTuber and former member the web show Epic Meal Time — just took things to a whole other level.

Over 2Pac’s iconic instrumental for “Hit Em Up,” the mayoral hopeful dropped a diss track aimed squarely at the city’s current mayor, Denis Coderre, who was elected in 2013.

Rocking Timberland boots, Lemco flames the mayor about everything from the way he spends money to his weight. He also is seen holding a pitbull — a breed a dog currently banned in the city — by the leash, which is a nod to the fact that overturning the ban is one his platform points.

It should be noted this isn’t the first hint savagery he’s shown toward the current mayor.

“I’m hoping that this starts a trend,” Lemco tells HipHopDX. “Maybe] rather than debates, we could have battle raps as part the electoral process.”

After months campaigning, Lemco notes that he’s been trying to do things outside the box. As he describes it, he’s been approaching things with an entertainer’s mindset.

“I’m not a fan the current mayor,” he admits. “I’ve been rapping for 15 years, and I figured this would be a good idea.”

One part that stands out is the last bar where he notes that Valérie Plante — a city councilor also running for mayor — is pretty cool.

“When I first told Denis Coderre] I was running about a year ago, he just laughed,” he says. “He’s never been very nice to me. Valérie Plante, though, has reached out to me at least a dozen times on Social Media. She’s still the opponent, and I don’t want to talk her up too much, but she’s a really nice lady.”

According to recent numbers from CBC, Lemco doesn’t have a chance on election day (November 5), although Plante is leading Coderre by 2 percent.

He says his lack experience when it comes to the political realm is one the qualities that would make him a great mayor.

“I would come in with a regular person mentality what the city needs … I think I would be a good breath fresh air. A blank slate,” he says.

Check out the full diss track above.

South Carolina Mayor Quotes Jay-Z After DUI Case Verdict

Jay-Z‘s status as a cultural icon and media influence has spread far beyond the world Hip-Hop, and Mayor Welborn Adams is the latest music outsider to highlight the connection. In reaction to a 2015 DUI case that ended in his favor, the Greenwood, South Carolina elected ficial tweeted out a lyric from Jay-Z in response.

The Index-Journal reports:

The outlet adds that much Adams’ legal undoing wasn’t the fact he allegedly had too much to drink, but that field sobriety tests were not a good determination his ability to drive as his wife says he’s famously clumsy.

This was a lot less weird than that time Harvey Weinstein quoted Hov.
